IG-541 and IG-55 inert-gas suppression.
Inergen (52% N₂, 40% Ar, 8% CO₂) and Argonite (50% N₂, 50% Ar) for occupied data centres, control rooms, archives and switchgear — total flooding without ozone or global-warming impact.
How Inert Gas works.
Inert-gas systems suppress fire by lowering the oxygen concentration in the protected space from 20.9% to between 12.5% and 14.5% — below the level that sustains most combustion, but still high enough for a brief evacuation. Hawk Marine engineers, fabricates and FAT-tests Inergen and Argonite total-flooding systems for occupied spaces where clean-agent residue would damage electronics or paper.
Storage cylinders are charged at 200 or 300 bar; discharge is metered through high-pressure selector and pilot valves to deliver 95% of the design quantity within 60 seconds, NFPA 2001 nominal. Cylinder banks are typically located in a dedicated agent room and piped via Schedule 40 / 80 carbon-steel manifolds to ceiling-level discharge nozzles.
Because the agents occur naturally in the atmosphere, IG-541 and IG-55 have zero ozone-depletion potential, zero direct global-warming potential, and an atmospheric lifetime measured in days. They are the agents of choice when a project specification rules out fluorinated chemicals.

Where it fits.
White space, MDF/IDF rooms, switchgear — agent leaves no residue on electronics.
Operator-occupied process control, refinery and FPSO control rooms, traffic and grid centres.
Paper, film, art — agent does not stain or wet exposed media.
FPSO E-houses, switchboard rooms, navigation equipment compartments.
Engineered advantages.
At design concentration, oxygen remains in the breathable range — people can self-evacuate.
Atmospheric gases — no ozone depletion, no global-warming potential.
Agent vents on its own — equipment back online without clean-up.
Cylinders qualify for re-test cycles up to 50 years — lower lifecycle cost vs. halocarbons.
